Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared some astonishing snaps of Gujarat taken by the newly launched EOS-06 satellite and wrote about the promising steps in outer space technology that will facilitate better detecting cyclones and promote the coastal economy.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday successfully implanted an Earth Observation Satellite (EOS) and eight more co-passenger satellites in multiple orbits, marking the mission “unique”.
“Have you come across breathtaking images from the recently launched EOS-06 satellite? Sharing some beautiful images of Gujarat. These advances in the world of space technology will help us to better predict cyclones and promote our coastal economy too,” PM Modi tweeted.
EOS-06 is a sophisticated third-generation satellite for studying ocean biological characteristics. Identifying possible fishing areas, weather forecasting, wind speed and cyclone detection, cyclone monitoring, and maritime security are some of its applications.
