Against the backdrop of the latest scare of Omicron ( B1.1529) SARS-CoV-2 virus discovered in South Africa, Congress leader and Former Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Arjun Modhwadia has advised the Government to postpone the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held in 2022.
The latest variant of the virus, he conveyed, can spread itself 100 times faster than it’s earlier versions. For the wellbeing of the people of the state it is necessary to postpone the vibrant summit, which will have a delegation from South Africa too, Modhwadia argued.
By sounding quick alert to the Government about the Covid scare, Modhwadia appears to have scored a fair political goal. Vibrant Gujarat is a flagship progmamme of Gujarat Government since the time Narendra Modi was Chief Minister of the state. It has always been a much-hyped event used to build the perception of Gujarat as the most investment Friendly and business-friendly region in India. Arjun Modhwadia have that advantage now about having that “joker” in his political cards which will say “I told you so!” at appropriate moment.
