One of the flagship institutes of the country, The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), announced a major leadership change with the completion of 7-year term by Dr. Shailendra Raj Mehta, the current President & Director and Distinguished Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in 2024. The institution’s Governing Council has confirmed plans to initiate a global search for Dr. Mehta’s successor.
Dr. Tridip Suhrud, Chairman of MICA’s Governing Council, said in a statement that Dr. Mehta’s tenure would conclude on May 31, 2024. The Governing Council is committed to conducting an extensive global search to identify the next leader who will carry forward MICA’s legacy of excellence in education and research. The Council aims to ensure a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities.
Praising Dr. Mehtra’s remarkable achievements, Dr. Suhrud said, “Throughout Dr. Mehta’s tenure, MICA has achieved unprecedented milestones. It proudly ranks among the top five institutions in the country in terms of research output featured in leading global management journals. The esteemed faculty at MICA have won the country’s top awards in research and teaching. MICA’s students have won many of the major national business school competitions.”
