Facebook parent company Meta’s international business division in India will be led by Vikas Purohit, the social media platform announced on Monday.
The business said in a statement that Purohit, the former CEO of Tata CLiQ, will oversee Meta’s strategic partnership with brands and agencies to promote revenue development across key channels. In order to hasten the use of digital tools by advertisers and agencies, he will collaborate with the media and others.
Purohit will be in charge of the business solutions, agency, and vertical business teams within the organisation. He will answer to the Director and Head of Ads Business for Meta in India, Arun Srinivas.
Srinivas said, “Meta is committed to enabling economic opportunities for businesses, and this charter is more important than ever as we navigate global economic headwinds. I am thrilled to welcome Vikas as he joins our team to shape the role that Meta platforms can play in enabling businesses, supporting India’s economic growth, and building the digital advertising ecosystem of the country.”
At significant fashion and retail firms, Purohit has more than 20 years of experience in senior business, sales, and marketing responsibilities. Purohit has served as the executive in charge of the business for Tommy Hilfiger, Reliance Brands Limited, Amazon Fashion, and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail.
He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Varanasi. His most recent position was as CEO of Tata CLiQ, where he began as COO.
