A man reportedly set himself on fire near the Parliament on Wednesday. The identity of the individual remains unidentified and he suffered serious burns, prompting an immediate transfer to the hospital.
A partially burnt two-page note was discovered at the scene, but its contents remain unknown. Petrol was also found at the location.
The police stated that the incident occurred near Rail Bhavan, the headquarters of the Indian Railways, after which the man ran towards Parliament House.
Delhi Police and forensic officials have reached the scene and an investigation has been initiated, according to authorities.
The man’s identity and the reason for his actions have yet to be determined.
