A 35-year-old man was apprehended for the alleged rape and strangulation of his neighbor’s five-year-old daughter in a village in Gujarat’s Aravalli district. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, and the accused was captured by villagers, subsequently handed over to the police.
The girl’s lifeless body, with tied hands and legs and mouth stuffed with cloth, was discovered under a bed in the neighbor’s house. Preliminary findings suggest that the man lured the girl, raped her, and then strangled her. Villagers initiated a search when the girl went missing, leading to the grim discovery.
The detained man is currently under interrogation, and an FIR has been filed based on a complaint by the deceased girl’s uncle. The crime branch is overseeing the investigation.
