After allegedly marrying 14 women from across seven states in 48 years, a man was arrested in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
He was arrested on Monday from his rented house, on the basis of the complaint filed by his last wife, with whom he used to stay in Odisha.
According to the police, the man had married in 1982 for the first time and the second time in the year 2002, having five children from these marriages. From then, he contacted other women through matrimonial websites and married them without terminating his existing marriages and awareness of the other wives. He had married women from seven states including Odisha, Delhi, Punjab, Jharkhand and Assam.
The man used to marry middle-aged single women, mostly divorced and lawyers, physicians by profession – pretending himself of being a doctor.
And while leaving them, he sought money from them, the police added.
He was earlier arrested twice for cheating unemployed youths and loan fraud in Hyderabad and Ernakulam.
