Ahmedabad girl uploads morphed pix of her ex boyfriend’s fiancee to win him back, likely to be arrested soon.
The cyber cell of Gujarat police has identified a 22-year-old girl who was morphing and putting up nude pictures of another girl of nearly her own age. The reason was that the victim was her ex-boyfriend’s fiancee.
Kavita (name changed), living in Naroda area of Gujarat created a fake Instagram id and continuously posted morphed pictures of Meghna. A distressed Meghna and her family registered a police complaint against unknown people doing this.
Police inspector H M Puwar of the city cyber cell told Vibes of India (VoI) that the accused Kavita was in a relationship with Ravi. “However, they got separated when their family members got to know about their relationship. They belonged to different communities and the families from both sides objected to the relationship. Later, Ravi’s family found a girl from their community. Ravi and Meghna were engaged to be married. However, Kavita could not get over Ravi. She thought the only way to keep him away from Meghna was to character assassinate her. Kavita created a fake id and started posting morphed nude pictures of Meghna. Kavita thought Ravi would find Meghna cheap and return to her. Interestingly, Ravi’s Instagram password was with Kavita. She used it and downloaded all pictures of Meghna. Kavita then morphed Meghna’s pictures into nude pictures to defame Meghna.
Inspector H M Puwar of the city cyber cell said Kavita created a fake id and sent a friend request to Meghna who accepted it. Then Kavita started bombarding Instagram with Meghna’s fake nude pictures from the fake id.
Meghna and her family registered a police complaint. ”We then wrote to the service providers and got the IP Log address of the device from which the fake Instagram ID was created. This IP Log address led us to the accused. We have recovered the smartphone from which the fake Instagram ID was created.
“The accused girl Kavita has been sent for pre-arrest Covid-19 test”, the police added.
