This WeekLife is a slice of drama held in action!!! Amdavaadis left no stone unturned in marking World Theatre Day on March 27 with much elan and events. Taking the carnival further, this week’s social calendar is abuzz with acclaimed pieces from Indian theatre. 

1.)Theatre Huddle 

Let’s huddle up! We’d like to invite you to an open discussion and have a candid conversation about what’s going on in Theatre. Let’s meet and discuss challenges and find out a way to a bright, better and sustainable theatre scenario in Ahmedabad. The panelists include Ankit Gor, Abhinay Banker, Mahesh Ghodeswar, Maulikraj Shrimali, Preeti Das, Ravi Ughrejiya, Satyendrasinh Parmar, and Vishal Shah.

2.)Sur Naiyya – Music Workshop by Ananyaa Gaur 

This evening will celebrate poetry and music of mystic saint poets of India. Also included is an immersive workshop aimed at introducing participants to the rich oral traditions of the sub-continent. 

Soak in the magic of Kabir, Meera Bai, Amir Khusro, Akka Mahadevi. We sing of boats, leaves, of identities, of the power of love and compassion, and of us, for us.

3.)ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK 

A seditious play inspired by the stories of Sa’adat Hasan Manto 

What do you think Manto would have written today if he were to witness the chaos in the country? “Enter At Your Own Risk” is based on a piece by Sa’adat Hasan Manto’s with Partition as the crux of the plot. Scriptwriters have taken the narrative and hung the unfortunate relevance of the 1947 divide in present times.
