LD Engineering College, the largest and oldest government degree engineering college in Gujarat, has completed the placement process for the 2024 batch and released the placement figures in a press release. The highest annual package offered to students has reached ₹19 lakh, with an average package ranging from ₹5 to ₹7 lakh.
As per the press release, among the more than 12 branches offered at LD Engineering College, including Civil, Computer, EC, Chemical, Automobile, Plastic and Textile, the placement process is a significant annual event. This year, 26% of the placements were in the IT industry, securing jobs for 244 students. Meanwhile, 74% of the placements were in core industry branches, with 684 students finding jobs in these sectors.
Electrical Engineering achieved an 89.8% placement rate with the highest package reaching ₹18.7 lakh, while Mechanical Engineering boasted the highest package of ₹19 lakh among all branches. IT industry also secured a 66.2% placement rate with the top package at ₹10.50 lakh and Computer Science achieved a 70.6% placement rate, with the highest package being ₹13.2 lakh. Civil Engineering is noted for a significant package, with the highest offered at ₹18.68 lakh.
Overall, the mechanical and electrical engineering branches reported higher placement percentages and packages compared to the IT and computer branches.
The MCA course at LD College achieved an 88.2% placement rate. Seven companies participated in the recruitment process, offering the highest package of ₹6 lakh and an average package of ₹4.83 lakh.
