The son of late Congress MLA and former Health Minister Dr Anil Joshiyara, Keval Joshiyara, today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with nearly 1,300 supporters. He was inducted into BJP by Gujarat party president CR Paatil in a ceremony held in Bhiloda of Aravalli district.
Talking about his reasons to join BJP, Keval said, “I am joining the BJP as I am impressed with the developmental works carried out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s government. I have joined the party without any expectation of ticket. I will try my best to ensure the BJP’s victory from Bhiloda seat.”
The state Assembly elections in Gujarat are expected to be held in December.
BJP general secretary Rajni Patel, higher education minister Kuber Dindor, health minister Rushikesh Patel, tribal development minister Naresh Patel and MP Deepsinh Rathod were all present at the occasion. Former MLA from the Khedbrahma seat Ashwin Kotwal, who recently joined BJP was also here.
Dr Anil Joshiyara passed away in March this year due to post-Covid complications. He was a veteran Congress leader, elected as MLA five times from the tribal regions of North Gujarat.
