Italian luxury sports car and SUV maker Lamborghini has made a splash in the Indian market. Last year 2023 was a special one for Lamborghini as it sold over 100 cars in India for the first time. In 2022, it sold just 92 units, so Lamborghini car sales in 2023 increased by 12% year-on-year.
The previous year was also good for luxury car makers, with Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz India all posting healthy year-on-year growth. Lamborghini considers India to be one of its 15 major markets. The company sold 6,087 Lamborghini Urus SUVs worldwide last year, and it is a big seller in India.
In India, Lamborghini sells three cars: the Urus SUV, the Revuelto supercar, and the Huracan EVO sports car. The Urus has an ex-showroom price of ₹4.18 crore to ₹4.22 crore, the Revuelto has an ex-showroom price of ₹8.89 crore, and the Huracan EVO has an ex-showroom price of ₹4 crore to ₹4.99 crore.
The growing sales of Lamborghini in India indicate that the demand for luxury sports cars and SUVs is increasing in the country. With rising incomes and economic growth, people are now able to afford expensive cars.
The increasing popularity of Lamborghini in India is a sign of the growing affluence of the country’s middle class. As more people have the means to purchase luxury goods, demand for high-end cars is expected to continue to grow.
