Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra has been arrested in Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, wherein nine people lost their lives. The nine-member SIT arrested Mishra after interrogating him for more than 11 hours. The SIT is headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Upendra Agarwal.
DIG Upendra Agarwal, Saharanpur informed that Ashish was not co-operating and failed to respond a few questions. According to the reports, He said, “Ashish Mishra, son of MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni, has been arrested as he was not cooperating during the interrogation and didn’t answer few questions. He will be produced before the court.”
Also, the FIR was filed against seven people, of which two – identified as Luvkush and Ashish Pandey – were arrested on Thursday.
A nine-member team headed by DIG Upendra Agarwal is probing the case against the minister’s son and others accused.
However, the minister has earlier denied his son’s presence on the site when incident took place.
