Kraft Heinz announced the launch of its first global capacity centre (GCC) in Ahmedabad. This will generate employment opportunities for at least 1,800 professionals in the state in the next three years. The US-based company is the world’s fifth largest food and beverage company. Heinz will be the first global capability centre in India.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Vijay Nehra, secretary of the department of science and technology and Serge De Vos, head of global business services, Kraft Heinz Company. It was ratified in the presence of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and other ministers. The MoU was signed under the IT/ ITes policy of Gujarat.
“The establishment of the GCC by Kraft Heinz showcases an environment of favourable conditions for Ease of Doing Business in Gujarat,” said Patel.
“The GCC represents a new direction in Kraft Heinz’s major transformation. The company is leveraging its technological capabilities through joint ventures and collaborations with innovators. These capabilities will be further extended to enhance operational efficiency, innovation, and service delivery in Kraft Heinz’s global operations, utilising advanced technologies, data analytics, and agile methodologies,” said Serge De Vos.
“The city’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and pool of skilled talent make it an ideal choice for the company’s IT, analytics, global business services, finance, and supply chain,” he further said.
