In the Arabian Sea off the coast of Kochi, a sizable quantity of drugs had been found. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Indian Navy conducted a joint operation to seize heroin valued at Rs 12,000 crore, marking the agency’s largest-ever recovery.
2500 kg of drugs were found in the Arabian Sea by the NCB and Indian Navy’s joint team. According to sources, the drugs seized have an estimated Rs 12,000 crore in international value, and this is the largest consignment of drugs ever seized. The consignment was being transported from Iraq to Australia.
Around 15 days beforehand, NCB and the Navy had learned of the shipment’s passage through the Indian coastline.
