A ‘Game of Thrones‘ spin-off based on the fan-favorite character Jon Snow is in early development at HBO. Kit Harington is in talks to reprise his role in this live-action series.
The plot revolves around the events after the Game of Thrones ending, presumed to be a cast-iron ending of the massively successful series.
In the final seasons of ‘Game of Thrones,’ Jon Snow discovers his true identity as a potential heir to the iron throne, Aegon Targaryen. The end concludes with his exile from Westeros as he leaves his old life behind, riding with Ghost and other wildlings to the North of the Wall.
Since the sequel takes place after the events, it is possible to see familiar characters such as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).
Game of Thrones is the most popular and Emmy-awarded series in HBO’s history, with Harington being nominated twice for Emmys for his portrayal of Jon Snow.
After Thrones’ completion, the actor appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dane Whitman in Eternals (2021) and an episode of Amazon’s Modern Love. He also recently starred in the leading role in the live production of Henry V. at the Donmar Warehouse in London.
HBO is already developing six other Thrones projects, and now with a new addition to this series, it will be a treat for the fans of the popular series.
The new upcoming projects include House of the Dragon, a prequel series set about 200 years before the events of the Thrones, releasing this year on August 21. House of the Dragon starring Matt Smith (The Crown) and Emma D’Arcy, narrates a story of a civil war within House Targaryen
