Kapadvanj Sessions Court today gave its verdict in the case of gangrape on a woman in Nirmali area and sentenced the 3 accused to death. AD District Judge V. P. Agarwal who presided the session gave this landmark verdict.
A woman’s body was found in the fields in Nirmali area of Kapadvanj taluka in Kheda district. The body was stripped bare. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the woman was raped multiple times and by more than one person. The local police pinpointed the suspects and arrested the three men. With all the evidence against them, the court found the men guilty. It is believed that the three men forcibly took the woman and raped her. She was then stabbed in the neck and killed. In an attempt to destroy evidence, the three men stripped the body of all the clothes and dumped it in a field, before fleeing.
This verdict follows a landmark verdict by a Deesa Court, where the accused was sentenced to death. This man had kidnapped as well as brutally raped and killed a deaf and dumb child. This incident happened in Bhakhar village, 10 km from Deesa, which is in Banaskantha district.
