Delhi CM and AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, on Sunday pledged to provide all youth in Assam free electricity and jobs if his party is voted to power in the North-Eastern state. Kejriwal, alongwith Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, arrived in Guwahati on Sunday. Later, in the day, the duo addressed AAP’s first ever political rally in the state.
Additionally, he stated that despite the BJP being in control in Assam for seven years, “nothing but dirty politics” hit headlines. In the same time frame, he claimed, AAP administration changed the landscape of Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal announced at a rally that just as the AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab provide free electricity to their states, Assam will also benefit the waiver if voted to power.
“We created employment jobs for 12 lakh people in Delhi in seven years and for 28,000 people in Punjab in just one year. AAP needs just one chance to make it happen in Assam too
In addition, Arvind Kejriwal stated that all Guwahati households would have access to piped water within the first year of the AAP’s administration in the state.
“AAP came to power in Delhi in 2015 and the BJP here in 2016. Today, we have changed the face of Delhi. What has Himanta babu done for the state in seven years? Nothing, only dirty politics,” Kejriwal stated.
Taking a jibe at Sarma for the private school being run by his wife, the Delhi CM noted: “In a state where the CM’s wife operates a private school, how can you expect the government to improve government schools?” On Sarma’s threat of suing him if he raised corruption charges against the BJP leader, Kejriwal said his Assam counterpart has not learnt the culture of people of the state, who accord a warm welcome to their guests.
