JioMart Collaborates with Jharkhand Artisans to Boost Indigenous Craftsmanship

| Updated: June 24, 2024 16:14

JioMart, the e-marketplace arm of Reliance Retail, has taken a significant step toward empowering small-scale sellers and artisans by partnering with JASCOLAMPF (a State Govt Emporium from Jharkhand) and JHARCRAFT (a government undertaking in Jharkhand). This collaboration aims to uplift Jharkhand’s artisans and expand their reach nationwide through the JioMart platform.

Numerous artisans from towns and cities in Jharkhand, including Gumla, Saraikela, and Palamau, have joined the JioMart marketplace. They now have the opportunity to showcase their handcrafted products and connect with customers across India.

JASCOLAMPF, the State Govt Emporium, gains unprecedented visibility and marketing support through this collaboration. Millions of JioMart customers can explore and purchase GI-tagged products, including woodcrafts, bamboo items, Dhokra artifacts, terracotta pieces, Lac bangles, handloom textiles, Zardozi work, Tasar sarees, men’s shirts, unstitched dress materials, handcrafted bags, bed sheets, paintings, and home decor—all reflecting the rich heritage of Jharkhand.

This initiative aligns with the ‘vocal for local’ ethos, championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, promoting self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat).

Rakesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director of JASCOLAMPF, emphasized the remarkable skills of Jharkhand’s artisans and weavers, passed down through generations. He believes that this collaboration will not only elevate local craftsmen but also benefit other MSME manufacturers in Jharkhand, fostering growth and innovation.

Ashwini Sahay, Deputy General Manager of JHARCRAFT, expressed excitement about launching on an indigenous platform like JioMart, which understands the unique needs of homegrown products. The move underscores their commitment to enriching the JioMart marketplace with diverse art forms, preserving India’s cultural richness.
