The much-awaited Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is already soaring the charts with Dholida. Tuesday saw another soundtrack release and, yes, this one was perfectly timed to coincide with the season of love. Jab Saiyaan is a soulful number, sure to pander to the whims of the heart, especially a day after Valentine’s.
A mushy rendition, it is the backdrop to Ramnik Lal (played by Shantanu Maheshwari) falling in love with Gangubai (Alia Bhatt). The couple’s chemistry is anyways being hailed as the next onscreen high stakes pair.
Jab Saiyaan begins with a game of cards between the duo and ends with Gangubai becoming the queen of his heart. The track has been brought alive by Shreya Ghoshal in a score composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The lyrics are by A.M. Turaz.
The song also marks Shreya Ghoshal and Bhansali’s get-together. They have previously worked together on tracks like Mohe Rang Do Laal, Pinga from “Bajirao Mastani,” Ghoomar from “Padmaavat” and Dola Re Dola from “Devdas,” to name a few.
Shortly after the track was released, Shreya posted: “From my debut to 20 years later, nothing makes me happier than singing a song for Sanjay Leela Bhansali Sir. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate 20 years in the industry.”
