The Income Tax (IT) department in Ahmedabad is on a roll. In just a month, IT officials on Tuesday raided yet another prolific builder from Ahmedabad. This time B-Safal group, Rajesh Brahmbhatt group and Swati Group came under the IT radar. A total of 22 places, including houses and offices, were sieged by IT officials.
Rajesh Brahmbhatt, Sanjay Agarwal and Chiman Agarwal were under the purview of the IT department in Ahmedabad for a long time. In addition, a reputed broker from the city is under investigation for the theft of income tax as part of this raid.
According to sources, the IT department had procured information on income tax theft carried out by these builders and brokers roughly a month ago. Over 25 officials have raided a total of 22 places and the search operations are still underway. Hearsay has it, that these investigations will be carried out for another two to three days.
