After losing the defamation case to her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, Amber Heard’s role in Aquaman is in jeopardy. Although she denies any such news, there are confirmed stories of her scenes getting reshot. In the light of the trial, Heard has received a lot of name-calling and backlash on social media.
The Warner Brothers have decided to recast the character of Mera in Aquaman. According to a source, Warner Bros has started screen testing different actresses for the role. They will do reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.
However, Heard’s representatives have refuted the allegations. He said, “The rumor mill continues as it has from day one — inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.”
The announcement follows a six-week defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Heard, which the actor, aged 59, won earlier in June. According to reports, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are attempting to distance themselves from Heard because of the situation.
Warner Brothers are yet to make any comments on Amber Heard. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be in theaters on March 17, 2023.
