IPL 2022: KL Rahul and Avesh Khan star as Lucknow Super Giants outwit Sunrisers Hyderabad 2nd win

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday to record their second successive victory in IPL 2022. On Saturday, LSG had defeated defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

The Winning Moment

Sunrisers Hyderabad were left to 83 for three after 11 overs after losing openers Williamson and Abhishek Sharma, then Aiden Markram departed on 12. Avesh Khan dismissed both openers, while Krunal Pandya dismissed Aiden Markram. Krunal then took out Rahul Tripathi (44). In the last over, Jasen Holder took three wickets and Avesh Khan took four wickets, as Hyderabad were reduced to 157/9 in 20 overs. KL Rahul (68 off 50 balls) and all-rounder Deepak Hooda (51 off 33 balls) both struck half-centuries as Lucknow Super Giants posted a total of 169 for 7. Holder concluded with 3/34, while Krunal added two more wickets to his tally.

Avesh Khan is adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling figures of 4/24 as Lucknow Super Giants won by 12 runs.
