Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed played knocks of 44* and 45 respectively as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by four wickets in the Match No.13 of Indian Premier League here on Tuesday. This is also Royal Challengers Bangalore 100th win in Indian Premier League (IPL).
RCB got off to a fantastic start thanks to Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat, but they were undone when they lost four wickets in two overs. After that, Dinesh Karthik came in and grabbed the chase by the scruff of the neck. Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed racked up 67 runs off 33 balls for the sixth wicket, sending the RR bowlers to all corners of the park. The pair grabbed control of the game, and RCB crossed the finish line with five balls in hand.
Earlier, Jos Buttler was the driving force for Rajasthan Royals, led the team reached 169/3 in 20 overs thanks to his unbeaten 70 off 47 balls. Buttler struggled to score for the majority of the innings, but teed off in the final two overs hitting some massive sixes to help RR get close to 170 on a slow wicket. Shimron Hetmyer, on the other hand, closed the innings with a score of 42 off 31 deliveries. For the fourth wicket, the partnership scored an unbroken 83 off 51 balls. Buttler was dropped twice, but he ended up playing through the innings.
Dinesh Karthik is adjudged Player of the Match for his match winning knock of 44* off 23 deliveries.
