Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated film Inshallah was unfortunately cancelled due to a creative disagreement, according to the production designer, Rupin Suchak. In an interview, Suchak revealed that Salman walked off the set after a confrontation with Bhansali. The film was set to star Salman and Alia Bhatt, but the shooting was rescheduled in 2019 after it had already commenced.
Despite the cancellation of Inshallah, Salman and Bhansali remain close friends. In a 2019 interview, Salman spoke about the cancellation, saying that Bhansali wouldn’t compromise the integrity of his film. Bhansali has also spoken fondly of Salman, calling him a dear friend and expressing his desire to work with him again.
According to producer Jayantilal Gada, there were creative differences between Salman and Bhansali that ultimately led to the rescheduling of Inshallah. Instead, Bhansali went on to direct Gangubai Kathiawadi, which was one of Bollywood’s first post-pandemic box office successes, grossing over Rs 200 crore worldwide. Salman is set to appear next in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, followed by the third instalment of the Tiger film series.
