Indigo Airlines on Saturday was fined Rs 5 Lakh for denying a boy with a special needs permission to board a flight from Ranchi.
The airline informed the teen’s parents that he posed a risk to other passengers.
The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing the airline of discrimination.
IndiGo has denied the allegations, claiming that it is an inclusive organisation.
Jyotiraditya Scindia, the aviation minister, promised “appropriate action” on Monday, saying he was personally investigating the incident.
“Such behaviour is not tolerated in any way. This should never happen to a human being “He tweeted about it.
