The Indian railways would launch the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train to promote Gujarat as part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign, a statement released on Sunday said.
The train on the “Garvi Gujarat” journey will leave from the Safdarjung station in Delhi on February 28. “This train tour has been designed on the lines of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme to showcase the heritage of vibrant Gujarat,” according to the statement from the Ministry of Railways.
For the eight-day all-inclusive journey, the cutting-edge Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train featuring First and Second AC classes will be operated. The train will have two second AC coaches, one pantry car that is well-equipped, two rail restaurants, and four first AC coaches.
It has room for 156 visitors. Visits to well-known Gujarati heritage and pilgrimage sites, including the Statue of Unity, Champaner, Somnath, Dwarka, Nageshwar, Beyt Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Modhera, and Patan, will be made during the journey.
The train can be entered or exited at the railway stations at Gurugram, Rewari, Ringas, Phullera, and Ajmer as well. According to the railways, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has partnered with payment gateways to offer passengers the option of making EMI payments.
