The Indian cricket team is expected to skip the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that the team management will request the International Cricket Council (ICC) to relocate the matches to either Dubai or Sri Lanka.
India and Pakistan have not faced each other on Pakistani soil since 2008, with their encounters limited to multi-team tournaments. Last year, Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup, but India played all their matches in Sri Lanka due to government restrictions.
The upcoming eight-nation Champions Trophy, scheduled for February and March next year, will mark a major cricket event in Pakistan. Notably, Pakistan last co-hosted the World Cup with India and Sri Lanka in 1996.
While the exact match dates are yet to be announced, India is set to play six ODIs before the Champions Trophy: three against Sri Lanka in an away series and three at home against England in early February.
