On July 1, 2022, the Desert Corps hosted Suraksha Manthan 2022, a conference on the border and coastal security, in Jodhpur. Present were serving officers from the Army, BSF, and Coast Guard. It was jointly presided over by Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force, Director General VS Pathania, President’s Tatraksha Medal, Tatraksha Medal, DG of the Indian Coast Guard, and Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding.
The finer points of interoperability, operational cohesion, and logistics issues were worked out during the negotiations to improve overall security along the international border and coastal sectors.
Additionally, a Joint training calendar was discussed to achieve a higher degree of readiness amongst the security forces. Current security threats and challenges along with joint mitigation responses were also discussed. It was agreed that the same would be institutionalized during the forthcoming exercises.
During the meet, a concrete road plan for achieving the goal of SAMANJASIYA to establish an environment that is conducive to security and capabilities development was agreed upon.
