Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Saturday that India’s defence exports hit a record high of Rs 15,920 crore in the fiscal year 2022–2023. He called the increase a tremendous accomplishment.
According to official figures, the country exported Rs 12,814 crore worth of defence goods in 2021–22.
“India’s defence exports have reached an all-time high of Rs 15,920 crore in FY 2022-2023. It is a remarkable achievement for the country,” Singh said on Twitter.
“Under the inspiring leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi, our defence exports will continue to grow exponentially,” he added.
Singh’s information indicates that India exported military gear for 8,434 crore rupees in 2020–21, 9,115 crore rupees in 2019–20, and 10,745 crore rupees in 2018–19.
The amount was Rs 4,682 crore in 2017–18 and Rs 1,521 crore in 2016–17.
