In Gujarat, farmers brought in their yield of winter mangoes to be auctioned in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Porbandar on Monday, surprising traders. The kesar mangoes, which were initially offered at Rs 350 per kg, were eventually auctioned off for Rs 501 per kg. On Monday, a total of 60 kg of the fruit was sold.The arrival of mangoes in winter sparked great excitement among traders and farmers alike, with sweets distributed at the end of the auction.In Saurashtra, These kesar mangoes are popular throughout the country and are grown primarily in Talala and surrounding areas.This year, there have been reports of mango trees blooming nearly three months early in Porbandar and other districts such as Bileshwar and Khanbhala.Farmers have been growing mangoes near the dam in the villages of Bileshwar, Khambhala, and Katawana in Porbandar district for several years. The Kesar mangoes grown in these areas are larger and of higher quality, making them extremely popular.
