This is the sixth sudden death of a healthy person in one week under the age of 45 in Saurashtra region.
The victim, identified as Vinit Kunvariya was a garba enthusiast and was practising the traditional dance form in a class in Patel Park area for Navratri event when he suddenly collapsed after completing the first round, said Jamnagar police.
He was first taken to a nearby private hospital, from where he was referred to GG hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on admission.
Garba trainer Dharmesh Rathod said, “Vinit had been coming to my garba classes for the past two months and was doing well. On Monday too, we were all enjoying ourselves when he suddenly collapsed on the ground. We called an 108 ambulance and took him to the hospital, but unfortunately we could not save him.”
It’s to be noted that last week a 24-year-old man too died of a heart attack while practising garba steps in Junagadh town.
