Over the past 30 hours, the district has received a staggering 11.4 inches of rain. In the most recent 24-hour period ending at 6 am today, Navsari recorded 5.2 inches of rainfall. Clouds persistently loom over the area, with Gandevi taluka experiencing the highest rainfall—5.7 inches—between 6 am and 12 noon.
Meanwhile, neighbouring Valsad district has also faced heavy rains, receiving 4 inches of rainfall during the same 6-to-12-noon period today. Among the top five talukas in the state witnessing heavy rain today, three are in Navsari district (Gandevi, Khergam and Chikhli), while two are in Valsad (Pardi and Chikli).

The upper reaches of Navsari district have been inundated due to incessant heavy rain, causing rivers to swell. The Kaveri River’s water level has risen significantly and in Dang district, it has surged by more than a foot. The Ataliya Undach bridge, which spans the river, is perilously close to overflowing. If the bridge becomes submerged, several villages will face lengthy detours.
Khadsad village in Jalalpore taluka has been severely affected by rainwater, leading to the closure of the main road due to waterlogging, causing inconvenience for residents.
In Gandevi, the Kaveri River’s water level has risen by 1 foot, reaching 9.50 feet. Additionally, the Juj and Kalia dams in Vansda district have seen increased water levels. Juj Dam’s water level rose by 0.30 meters, while Kalia Dam’s level increased by 0.60 meters.
Across the state, rainfall has been recorded in 168 talukas in the last 24 hours, with Valsad receiving the highest—6 inches. Gandevi and Khergam followed closely with 5 inches each, while Navsari, Pardi, Chikhli, Jalalpur, Vapi and Umargam received 4 inches of rain.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for several districts in South Gujarat, including Navsari, as heavy rain is expected to persist in the coming days.
