The Ahmedabad city witnessed varying intensities of rain across different areas. In the afternoon, strong winds and dark clouds enveloped the city, followed by heavy rainfall in various parts.
The weather began to change after 11 AM, with strong winds sweeping through the city. By around 12:30 PM, several areas experienced significant rainfall.
The western part of Ahmedabad was particularly affected, with heavy rains and strong winds lashing Chandkheda, New Ranip, and Jagatpur. Naroda, Sardar Nagar, Kotarpur Airport, and Indira Bridge also reported significant rainfall, while areas like Wadaj, Usmanpura, and Subhash Bridge experienced downpours.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Ahmedabad, warning of heavy rain over the next five days. According to the IMD bulletin, surface winds are expected to exceed 30 kmph from July 15th to July 18th.
