A shocking case of murder has come to light in Gondal town of Rajkot district, where a 45-year-old man was killed by his wife in May last year. The wife, Kanchan Parmar, tried to cover up the crime by claiming that her husband, Mukesh Parmar, died of a heart attack in his sleep.
The truth was revealed after the postmortem report, which was received recently by the Gondal police, showed that Mukesh died due to ‘strangulation’. Kanchan has been booked for murder by the police.
The deceased’s father, Daya Parmar, lodged a complaint against Kanchan after suspecting foul play. He said that on May 26, he received a call from his son’s phone at 3 am, in which Kanchan asked him to come urgently. When he reached there, he found Kanchan crying and saying that Mukesh had a heart attack and died.
Daya went to the terrace, where the couple was sleeping, and saw his son’s body wrapped in a blanket. He also noticed a dupatta around his neck. He took the body to the Gondal government hospital, where the doctors also assumed that he died of a heart attack. However, due to doubt, the body was sent for forensic examination at Rajkot.
The police are investigating the motive behind the murder. The couple had four children.
