Hardik Patel on Tuesday resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party.
He announced his decision on twitter and said, “Today I courageously resign from the primary membership of the Congress party. I am sure that my decision will be welcomed by all my colleagues and the people of Gujarat. I believe that after this step of mine, I will be able to work really positively for Gujarat in future.”
“Whether it is the temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya or whether it is the issue of CAA, NRC, removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir or implementation of GST, the country wanted a solution to them for a long time and the Congress party only acts as a hindrance in it.” Hardik Patel said in his letter to Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi.
He further alleged that, “ Be it India, Gujarat or my Patel community, the stand of the Congress on every issue was limited to opposing the central government only. The party has been rejected by the people in almost every state of the country because the party and the leadership could not even present a basic roadmap to the public.”
His Former PAAS colleague and BJP leader Reacts:
BJP leader and former PAAS colleague of Hardik, Varun Patel took to twitter to oppose Hardik Patel’s possible BJP joining. He said in a tweet, “I don’t think BJP workers will accept Hardik, seeing the way BJP workers have struggled against him. The talk of joining the BJP seems to have no basis at all. BJP workers are silent, but they will not accept Hardik !
