The May 26 examinations for the second-semester students of Gujarat University affiliated colleges are expected to be delayed for more than a week after the Gujarat State’s Principals’ Association made representations to the university to postpone the same.
Citing the preparations for the examination from seating arrangements to supervision and the summer heat, the association had requested the Gujarat University VC to postpone the exams for at least 10 days. Around one lakh students from around seven streams – Science, Commerce, Arts, BBA, BCA, BEd and law have registered for the Sem-II exams.
According to the sources, the request made by the association has been accepted by the university’s VC and also a general circular to inform the colleges of the postponement of the exams has been issued. The colleges are asked to make their arrangements by June 7 and the revised time-table with the new dates of the examinations to be taken will be announced by this week.
