It is raining goodies for jungle lovers in Gujarat. After a new jungle safari proposed near Kevadiya at Statue of Unity, another Jungle Safari for Asiatic lions is going to come up in Una Taluka in the state. The state government has granted in-principle approval for this Safari, which is currently in the planning stage. Approval from the central government is also awaited for this project.
Regarding the upcoming sanctuary, Mulubhai Bera, Forest & Environment and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, stated – “The state government has given in-principle approval for setting up a new Safari Park near Una, similar to Devalia Safari Park and Ambardi Safari Park. However, it is still a lengthy process before the Safari is established. This year’s budget included provisions for it. Formalities, such as obtaining permission from the central government authorities, are still pending and the process is ongoing.”
“Many tourists visit the Safaris in Sasan and Ambardi as the king of the jungle, the lions are found only in Gir in the entire Asia. Taking this into consideration, the government has taken this decision for the third Jungle safari,” he added.
