Ahead of the traditionally hottest month of Summer – May in Gujarat, the month of April has already sizzled the state with high temperatures. The state had experienced the maximum temperatures to be higher than 41 Degrees Celsius for almost 19 days out of the first 22 days of the April month this year.
Gandhinagar on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 42 Degrees Celsius and Ahmedabad recorded 41.5 Degrees Celsius maximum temperature.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that the maximum temperature for the coming three days is expected to hover around 42 Degrees Celsius and is expected to rise up to 44 Degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ahmedabad will have a yellow alert for three days and an orange alert for two subsequent days, the IMD stated in its statement.
Also, pockets of South Gujarat and Saurashtra regions of the state are also likely to face high temperatures for the next five days
Apart from Ahmedabad, parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra are also likely to face high temperatures for the next five days. The weather department Friday had issued a heatwave warning over these regions for two days from Saturday.
