Gujarat Titans unveiled the team logo on Metaverse, Sunday. The logo, shaped like a kite, mirrors the team’s desire to soar high. Interestingly, kite-flying is an integral part of Gujarat’s social legacy with festivities like Uttarayan, a case in point. The logo is largely in blue and white and has an intense feel, an index to the team’s resolve to bring home the glories.
Debuting in the 15th season of the IPL, Gujarat Titans’ is the first IPL franchise to have their virtual universe. In fact, the Titans on Saturday announced that they have created a virtual space on Metaverse named “The Titans Dugout.” The logo, unveiled virtually by team coach Ashish Nehra, captain Hardik Pandya and batsman Shubham Gill, saw the trio engage with their fans. The show had a prelude, in Gujrati and English, welcoming fans into the “Dugout” zone wherein, subsequent interactions are promised as well.
This will be a space for engagement with the fan community throughout the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). With this, in a long list of ‘firsts’, Gujarat Titans will be the premier sports team in India to introduce a dedicated virtual space for its global community of fans and players.
Gujarat Titans have built a strong team with players such as Mohammed Shami, Jason Roy, and Lockie Ferguson. Also onboard are Rahul Tewatia, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha, Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill.
