The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will feature a couple of new franchises, one of which is Gujarat Titans (GT), a franchise based in Ahmedabad. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team. Ahead of its maiden IPL appearance, it has launched its team anthem, titled ‘Aava De’.
The song, composed by Dub Sharma and performed by Gujarati folk musician Aditya Gadhvi, blend’s themes from Gujarati culture with the team’s aim to make a mark on the world’s best T20 event. The anthem begins with the late Shri Kavi Narmad’s renowned lyrics, “Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat.” The words ‘Aava De’ denotes an invitation to ‘Bring it on.’
“Aditya Gadhvi and I attempted to capture the spirit of Gujarat via our partnership. We also wanted to emphasise the Gujarat Titans’ slogan, ‘Aava De,’ which means ‘Bring it on.’ It’s all about capturing the spirit of Gujarat in its shape and tone. We worked with Aditya, who provided some critical Gujarat information. I am optimistic that some elements of the anthem would leave an impression on people’s minds “Dub Sharma, the composer, stated.
“When I was asked to sing this song for the Gujarat Titans, I realised I had to communicate Gujarat’s spirit, character, and individuality via it. I chose a music that is associated with the state. I’m overjoyed that everyone at the Gujarat Titans loved it. I am confident that when this is played at the stadium, everyone will join in singing ‘Hove Hove,’ which will energise the Gujarat Titans “Aditya Gadhvi said.
