Gujarat Second Jab Coverage On Track At 81%

| Updated: December 8, 2021 12:40

Ahmedabad: Here’s news to bring good cheer during the holiday season. State health officials on Tuesday, shared that 81 percent stayed on schedule for second vax dose in Gujarat. While state capital Ahmedabad has reached 99 percent coverage of its first dose, it lags behind at 66 percent for the second shot.

Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Junagadh score high at 88 percent second dose.

Closely monitoring the Omicron variant and fears of a possible spike during the much-hyped Vibrant Gujarat Global business meet in January 2002, the health department has undertaken an aggressive campaigning on vaccination. In some areas, door-to-door drives have also been undertaken.

A district-wise analysis shows Botad has the lowest figures. Of the first-dose eligible, only 69 percent took the first jab. Patan, Amreli and Dang put together account for less than 20 percent of the state’s second dose coverage.
