Gujarat Police on Tuesday returned Rs 2.07 crore to nine victims of cyber fraud. State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi handed over the cheques for the recovered amounts under the ‘Tera Tujhko Arpan‘ project.
Officials said the funds were retrieved from individuals accused of participating in various cybercrimes, including investment scams, fraudulent applications, fake links, credit card service fraud, and OTP fraud.
The ‘Tera Tujhko Arpan‘ initiative, launched by Gujarat Police, aims to return stolen or defrauded property to its rightful owners under court supervision.
The project seeks to reduce the need for citizens to visit police stations, saving them time and effort. Public programmes and hearings are conducted to facilitate the return of property.
Authorities highlighted the significance of the initiative in strengthening public trust and encouraging the reporting of cybercrimes.
Gujarat Police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling cyber fraud and ensuring justice for victims through prompt action and recovery measures.
