Gujarat recorded 9,395 coronavirus cases today – a drop from yesterday’s tally of 11, 794 – and 30 deaths in the last 24 hours. With 30 Covid-19 fatalities, the cumulative number of deaths climbed to 10,438 in Gujarat, the state health department said in a release.
Eight people who succumbed to the infection were from Ahmedabad. Vadodara (3), Rajkot (3), Surat (3), Bharuch (3), Gandhinagar (1),
Valsad (1), Jamnagar (1), Morbi (1), Mehsana (1).
Besides 30 deaths, as many as 278 Covid-positive patients are on ventilator support in Gujarat. The state has been reporting over 20 fatalities each day since January 24.
With today’s update of daily cases, the state’s active cases tally stood at 91,320.
Ahmedabad city remained the biggest contributor with 3,582 cases. Other major contributors include Vadodara (1,598), Rajkot (522), and Surat (398).
