Gujarat recorded 11, 794 coronavirus cases today – a drop from yesterday’s tally of 12,131 – and 33 deaths in the last 24 hours. With 33 Covid-19 fatalities, the cumulative number of deaths climbed to 10,408 in Gujarat, the state health department said in a release.
Seven people who succumbed to the infection were from Ahmedabad. Vadodara (3), Rajkot (3), Surat (2), Bharuch (2), Gandhinagar (0), Valsad (2), Bhavnagar (4), Anand (2), Valsad (2) Besides 33 deaths, as many as 285 Covid-positive patients are on ventilator support in Gujarat. The state has been reporting over 20 fatalities each day since January 24.
With today’s update of daily cases, the state’s active cases tally stood at 98,021.
Ahmedabad city remained the biggest contributor with 3,990 cases. Other major contributors include Vadodara (1,816), Rajkot (716), and Surat (511).
