Police have seized methamphetamine (MD) valued at Rs 14 lakh along with 427 kg of suspected contraband from a factory in the Ankleshwar industrial area, located in Gujarat’s Bharuch district. One person has been arrested in connection with the seizure, according to an official statement on Monday.
The raid, conducted at ‘Avasar Enterprise’ in the Ankleshwar GIDC area, was carried out jointly by the district’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surat police on Sunday night. Among the seized materials was 141 grams of MD drug, estimated to be worth Rs 14.10 lakh. The remaining substances have been sent to a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis, said SOG police inspector Anand Chaudhary.
The investigation is ongoing, with one individual arrested so far, Chaudhary confirmed.
This raid follows a major seizure a week earlier, where over 500 kg of cocaine, valued at Rs 5,000 crore, was confiscated from the Avkar Drugs Limited factory in Ankleshwar. That operation, conducted on 13th October by both Gujarat and Delhi police, occurred after a separate raid in Delhi uncovered 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana.
Further investigations into the cocaine haul suggested a link to a company named Pharma Solution Services, with the consignment originating from Avkar Drugs Limited in Ankleshwar. On October 10, an additional 208 kg of cocaine was recovered from a shop in Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar.
