A tragic incident occurred in Dabka village in Gujarat’s Vadodara district, where one person died and 14 others were injured due to electrocution. The victims were working on the installation of a pandal for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The remaining 14 individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. The police have been notified and have commenced a preliminary investigation into the incident.
Early reports indicate that while the youths were constructing a Ganesh mandap near the Verai Mata temple in Dabka, an iron angle came into contact with a high-voltage line.
As the youths were working with these iron angles, a sudden electric shock passed through the line, causing serious injuries.
Preparations were in progress near the temple for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, slated to begin on September 7.
It is important to note that this year’s celebrations coincide with the monsoon season. Consequently, the authorities are actively working to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
