In Ahmedabad, in order to raise awareness of good physical and mental health, the upcoming G20 summit, and the anti-addiction drive, City Police has scheduled a Night Half Marathon event on January 21 after 5:00 pm at Sabarmati Riverfront. During the event, runs of 5, 10, and 21 kilometres will be scheduled.
The Paldi event centre is where the run will begin. The marathon is timed, and each participant’s finish time will be recorded using chips. The event will also feature celebrity appearances, stage performances, and music performed by the police band.
The event will be co-sponsored by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Traffic restrictions will be in effect during the event on January 21st evening. Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Home Affairs, will be present.
Over 72,000 people have registered for the event, according to the police. Originally scheduled for last year, the event was pushed back due to the election season.
However, Earlier in August, The Ahmedabad city police had organised a night half marathon. The marathon, which offered prizes worth Rs 10 lakh, is part of the department’s fight against drugs and to promote its anti-drug thrill addict campaign.
