An FIR has been lodged at the Botad police station in Gujarat against two people and an unknown person, allegedly someone posing as working in the Sachivalaya, for duping people with fake promises of procuring jobs as health workers. The police have initiated an investigation.
A 29-year-old woman named Hetal Paragbhai Gohil from Bhavnagar has registered a complaint with the police authorities that Bharat Bachubhai Solanki, a resident of Botad, and Shilpa Ajaykumar Dave, a resident of Ahmedabad, in connivance of someone claiming to be the PA of the minister in the Gujarat government, have duped her of Rs. 43.50 lakh by making her false promises of selecting her for a government job.
Hetal claimed that she met Bharat Bachubhai Solanki along with her husband and an acquaintance while on a pilgrimage to the Salangpur Hanuman temple. two years ago. Bharat later introduced her to Shilpa. Shilpa then, at a later stage, informed Hetal about the upcoming vacancies for female health workers in the Gujarat government.
Hetal has claimed in her complaint that Shilpa put her in touch with someone, in the Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, who called himself Jagdish and told her that he was PA to minister. He also provided mobile numbers, 9978389027, 8401060201, and 8460606051, claiming to be his. The person identifying as Jagdish and a PA to the Minister told the complainant to pay Shilpa. Accordingly, Hetal paid Rs. 200,000 initially and Rs. 600,000 subsequently in July 2022.
However, Hetal’s name did not appear in the selected candidates’ list. She was told to wait until the issuance of the wait-listed candidates’ list. Her name did not appear on the new list either. Sensing that she had been cheated, Shilpa decided to file a complaint.
She had given the names of 15 other people who had also been cheated by the accused with a similar promise with an amount ranging from Rs.100,000 to Rs. 250,000 totaling Rs. 35,50,000.
The scam involving Rs.43.50 lakh with accusations of someone claiming to be a PA to Minister, taking place within the premises of the Sachivalaya in the Gandhinagar is a serious matter. As the entries in the Sachivalaya (the Secretariat ) are heavily guarded and monitored, it is hoped that the police will be able to identify the accused soon.
