A shocking case of Triple Talaq (divorce) was reported today from Gujarat’s Anand district where a man divorced his wife on social media.
The young woman living in Umreth region reported the matter to the police after her husband sent her three divorce messages on her Instagram ID. She said that her husband had divorced her because he did not like her. She alleged that her husband had divorced her verbally two days back but she had not responded. The police lodged a complaint and found out that the couple had an acrimonious relationship. This had forced the lady to move to her parental home.
Police have registered a case under the provisions of Muslim Women ( Protection of Right to Marriage) Act.
The girl was married in 2019 to a man from Debari village in Virpur taluka of Mahisagar district. Their married life was going normal and well. However, the two had frequent quarrels.
